Family Connections Work Site

Goals

Mission statement: The Family Connections Center exists to develop strong healthy families and to build a thriving Portola community. Family Connections Center provides opportunities for people of different backgrounds to work together cooperatively, sharing cultures, values, knowledge and resources.

Family Connections is a multicultural resource center. They are a private non profit organization that serves between 600 and 700 families per year. The agency was the only comprehensive family and child centered program in the Portola community. As a result, their services are very much in need and they often have long waiting lists for their services. Their purpose is to support and assist families in raising healthy children. The services held at Family Connections have been requested by the community. They provide services such as after school care, tutorials, computer classes, counseling, nutrition classes, and English as a Second Language classes.

The goals for their website are the following:

  • To attract funders to their agency
  • To give information about the agency to the public
  • The site should project a kid friendly image
  • The site should reflect the importance of the agency as a community provider in the Portola district of San Francisco
  • The site should convey the image of a well-maintained respectable non profit organization
