"Those
who can do...teach!"
Welcome
to Each One Reach One's Artist Resource Center (ARC).
We've designed this center to give the adult artist
the necessary information and instructions on what our
mentoring program involves. I hope that you will take
the time to look at some of the other pages on our site
so that you become more familiar with who
we are and see the pride that we take in doing what
we do. The voices of our young
writers and their library of plays are especially
profound, considering these voices are really what bring
us together in the first place. The
column may also give you a sense of the magic and
the gift of being a mentor. Please
contact us if you have any questions.

our featured mentor
Kelvin Han
Yee
passionately believes in American's youth as its hope for
the future. For Each One Reach One, Kelvin is an outstanding
mentor and serves on its Advisory Council. Kelvin also participates
in educational outreach for San Francisco Unified School District,
Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Conservatory Theater,
Berkeley Repertory Theatre, San Francisco Mime Troupe, Chinatown
Youth Center, Japanese American Youth Council, Asian American
Dance Company.
You'll see Kelvin
in the films Sweet November, True Crime (directed
by Clint Eastwood), Patch Adams, Copycat, So
I Married an Ax Murderer, Dumbarton Bridge and
American Sons (American Playhouse). A long history
of collaboration between Kelvin and Philip Kan Gotanda, writer
and director, achieved another high with the recently released
film Life Tastes Good.
Soon after getting
expelled from high school, Kelvin accidentally stumbled into
an audition at San Francisco's Asian American Theater Company.
With no formal training, Kelvin began electrifying local audiences,
picking up a Bay Area Critics' Circle Award, Dramalogue Award
and a San Francisco Bay Guardian Goldie.
Since his start,
Kelvin has performed with American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley
Repertory Theater, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Thick
Description, The San Francisco Mime Troupe, San Jose Repertory,
BRAVA, The Huntington Theater and the Los Angeles Theater
Center.
Always willing
to break new ground, Kelvin was the first Asian American actor
to perform with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland)
in its sixty-year history.
Kelvin's television
credits include a starring role in Gideon Oliver with
Lou Gosset Jr. and various roles on Nash Bridges for
which he has the distinction of being Don Johnson's "favorite
bad guy!" You may also recognize Kelvin from appearances in
Back to the Streets of San Francisco and Tales of
the City.
In 2000 Kelvin
was named an Associate Artistic Director of the Eureka Theater.
He has also directed for Asian American Theater Company, Playwriters
Inc. and San Francisco Stage and Film. He received an NEA
grant to direct composer Jon Jang and novelist David Mura
in the multimedia performance After Ours'. Look for
his new theater company R/Evolution and its debut play Texas,
starring Robert Wu.
