Web Site Goals

Home

Primary Objectives:

Attract the targeted audiences

  • Donors
  • Foundations
  • Volunteers

We want potential private donors to connect with the human element of this agency. Identifying with the families and the children in need and seeing themselves as having a direct, positive effect on their lives.

We want foundations to recognize APA as an up and coming neighboorhood-based nonprofit that is a leader in the community for other nonprofits.

We want qualified volunteers to see that they are needed and valued at APA and be motivated to give of their time and themselves.

Emphasize APA's strengths:

  • APA provides services for all members of a family and focuses on children 0-5 years of age
  • Early identification and intervention in at-risk families for child abuse and domestic violence
  • Multi-lingual, multi-cultural staff are able to provide culturally appropriate services to newcomers
  • Parents and community are staff members, volunteers and contributors
  • Home visitors attend medical/clinic check-ups and provide support and translations as needed
  • The only hospital-based, in-home visitation program in Northern California
  • Bilingual support groups and parenting education classes
  • Lead agency in the Asian Pacific Islander Family Resources Network, a collaboration of 27 agencies
  • Asian Pacific Islander Family Hotline provides information, referral and counseling in six languages
  • Parents Advisory Committee gives the clients input on agency policy and services

Look and Feel Objectives:

  • Professional and warm with personality
  • Viewers should connect with the human element
  • Emphasis on the success that the families have with this support
  • Multi-cultural board members, staff and clientele
  • Communicate the agencies committment to parent and community involvement
  • Design text to "feel" like a story

  • Make site easy to update and maintain by someone who is a novice to web site construction
