What you need to purchase for this class
The tools I am suggesting you purchase for this class are basic design tools that you will be able to use over and over again. They should run you under $40.00. They are important to producing quick pencil layouts and will help you explore arrangements and alignments of content, without having to really focus on the content.
I've listed a price range next to each item, indicating what you may expect to pay for each. Obviously, the cheaper the price, the cheaper the product. However, buying really pricey products isn't critical. Use your best judgment.
Be expected to bring to class each week the following items:
Metal ruler 12" minimum ($5.95 - $15.95)
3 mechanical pencils- .5mm in various lead weights ($2.95 - $12.95)
2H - Hard lead makes a Gray line ($1.10 - $1.95)
HB - Medium weight lead makes a dark Gray line
B - Soft makes a very dark line
2 fine-point felt tip pens in black ($.79 - $1.89)
2 fine-point felt tip pens in red ($.79 - $1.89)
Why 2 of each color? One is always going to run out when you need it.
30 /60/90 degree plastic triangle clear or at least see-through 12" minimum ($3.95 - $8.95)
Blank paper to draw on (hint: a ream of copypaper is perfect for several people to share)
