Brief Introduction

Hi! My name is Lawrence Frelot. I work at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in the capacity of a computer help desk analyst. I have been working there for almost a year now. I support and troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues and problems. I work with Windows-based PCs (unfortunately) and work extensively with helping our internal users with common productivity software applications, which include, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint.

Fun Facts and Objectives

I have had an interest in HTML since I was in college. I remember my first exposure to HTML back in 1993 when I first went San Diego State University (SDSU) as a Freshman. I remember using a 28.8 kbps dialup SLIP connection from my dorm room (we thought that was fast then) to access the Internet. My first web browser I ever used was a text-only browser called "Lynx". After I graduated from SDSU I have always wanted to learn HTML but this is the first time that I have seriously made the effort to take a class. I hope to learn:

• Basic and some intermediate XHTML coding
• Best coding practices
• Aspects of job catergories with regard to web development and future job prosepects
• Best resources from which to extend my training after this class
