Production Management

Multimedia Project Management requires a broad range of skills and experience including technical expertise, creativity, and management know-how. This five session course provides an in-depth look at the Multimedia management process from conceptualization through Gold Master.

Too many multimedia projects run over-time and over-budget because teams lack management training and fail to develop sensible management systems. This course will focus on ways to maximize efficiency and get the best work out of employees and contractors.

Course topics will include developing project specifications and storyboards, hiring and working with contractors, licensing content, developing and maintaining budgets and time-lines, beta testing and of course, managing employees.

The emphasis will be on management of consumer CD-ROM projects, however the skills learned in this class are transferable to other multimedia genres.

The course structure will include instructor and guest lectures, and take-home assignments. Class lectures will also be supplemented with a class reader.
